Meet the owner of Riverview Ranch - Tracie Valentine
Tracie was born in Mesa and moved from Arizona to Green Bay Wisconsin area, at the age of four, where her parents originally were from. At five, her family settled into a farm of 24 acres in the country. It was then that her mother fulfilled a lifelong dream by purchasing her first horse. Tracie fell in love with her mother's spirited bay Arab/Welsh gelding. Her experiences with the mischievous gelding ignited a deep-seated passion for horses and riding.
Tracie later purchased a 4-year-old green-broke AQHA gelding, who was Two Eyed Jack /Barron Bell bred . She trained him for team penning, and they won their class at their first show. Soon a passion for barrel racing grew, leading her to compete with her gelding at local fairs and small shows. Seeking to recoup some entry fees, Tracie joined the WI01 NBHA. In her first year with her self-trained horse, she won first place in the 3D at three shows and qualified for the NBHA World Championships. Tracie was also a breeder of show-quality collies and sold her two top males to cover entry and travel costs. She consistently qualified for the NBHA World Championships for several consecutive years, advancing to a top 2D and middle/lower 1D. Additionally, she trained horses at her Wisconsin facility and provided training services at other local facilities.
Life, as it often does, gets in the way, and Tracie shifted her focus to raising her three boys and starting a Utility Construction Company. Also during this period, she transitioned from training and showing barrel horses to purchasing and showing cutting horses, focusing on the Doc Bar and Mr San Peppy bloodlines. Tracie has been breeding horses since the early 2000's. After years of traveling to Texas and falling in love with the region, Tracie acquired an almost untouched 173-acre property in Oklahoma near the Texas border in 2017, marking the establishment of Riverview Ranch. Over the past few years, she has been hands-on in constructing a new facility, building and pouring concrete alongside her husband and sons, with a new structure added each year. Tracie manages and operates the entire facility, mostly on her own; this includes maintaining the grounds, handling stallions and all aspects of collecting, processing, shipping and freezing, breeding mares, foaling, and managing all the paperwork for the facility and customer's stallions, including all incentives for each stud. Tracie remains actively involved in her Utility Construction Company in Wisconsin. Although she no longer works in the field, she handles all the company's bookkeeping.
